Class Allocation Policy
It is recognised that allocation of classes is the prerogative and duty of the Príomh Oide. The list of classes and teachers will be submitted to the B.O.M for approval and will be distributed to all teachers at April Staff Meeting.
Classes will be allocated after consultation by questionnaire to each teacher in the school in March.
o Each teacher will be asked to give 3 preferences none of which can be guaranteed. Each teacher will also be asked to indicate 1 class which they do not wish to have allocated to them. They will be guaranteed that this will be respected.
The Príomh Oide will then allocate classes using the following guidelines.
o Needs of the school
o Experience – suitability – interest of teacher
o Wish to work in the area
o Make up of particular class
